10% Absentee Rate for TSA Workers During Government Shutdown
01/23/2019
The Transportation Security Administration reports unscheduled employee absences at 10%, more than three times the normal rate, according to Forbes Magazine.
At Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson airport, the TSA reported maximum wait times of 88 minutes in standard security lines and 55 minutes in the pre-check screening lanes. TSA keeps a running update of its checkpoint operations on its website.
The absences are being attributed to financial hardships on the part of the employees, with no end in site for the government shutdown and payback for their time.
