Lessen Your Suitcase Load: Business Travel Fashion to Turn on its Head
12/13/2019
Rent the Runway, a rental service for clothing and accessories, is striving to reduce the hassle of packing for both business travel and vacation. The company recently formed a partnership with Marriott International’s W Hotels to debut its unique rental service, starting at four locations.
During your stay at W Aspen in Colorado, W South Beach in Florida, W Washington D.C. or W Hollywood in California, you have the opportunity to select four styles from Rent the Runway for use during your patronage. The fashions are carefully curated to align with the local climate and prospective activities, like swimming, for example. The fee for this service is $69 and the company dispatches the four chosen styles to W Hotels, which in turn, drops the clothes off directly to your hotel room. You can also leave the clothes behind to be returned by W Hotels after you check out.
Rent the Runway also plans to stock miniature closets with an assortment of styles at the four hotels, in the event that a size is wrong, or you want to add on accessories or other items during your trip. The company plans to expand this service in the future and possibly even add other partners.
More Americans are seeing the value in renting fashion they may only wear once or twice as opposed to fully and expensively stocking their closets for every occasion. According to a CNBC article, “Urban Outfitters, Express and Gap’s Banana Republic brand are just a few that have since launched their own rental platforms.”
