5 Great After-Hours Group Activities in the Fox Cities
04/10/2023
Here in the Fox Cities, we know that the best meetings and conventions are more than just conversations behind boardroom doors. From an abundance of group activity options to walkable downtowns with dining and nightlife, here are a few ideas to keep the conversations flowing when the workday is done.
- For groups with a competitive spirit, Appleton Axe is the place to be. With 12 throwing lanes, shuffleboard, indoor yard games, an escape room, and a fully stocked bar featuring local craft beer, hours of entertainment can all be found under one roof. Never thrown an axe? No problem! The staff is happy to train beginners, and can even create challenges and mini tournaments to amp up the friendly competition.
- Batter up! Grand Chute is home to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers baseball team, a minor league affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Known for their award-winning theme nights and the viral “Bratzooka,” the Timber Rattlers offer a wide variety of group ticket and dining packages to take your event to the ballpark. New in 2023 are extensive upgrades and renovations that will transform the stadium into one of the best in minor league baseball.
- There’s no better way to honor the dairy state than incorporating locally made chocolate and cheese into your event. Simon’s Specialty Cheese is known throughout the country for its world-class assortment of locally produced cheese products. Stop by the retail store to watch a video that highlights the cheesemaking process and taste test your way through all the delicious samples. For something on the sweeter side, head to Wilmar Chocolates in Appleton to design your own candy bar at the Mix It Up! chocolate bar. With over 40 unique mix-ins to choose from, you’ll walk away with a one-of-a-kind bar made just for you.
- Form greater connections with your group and host community by coordinating a volunteering opportunity. In the Fox Cities, Feeding America is always in need of the generous support of large groups to help fulfill its mission. Groups can donate their time in a variety of ways such as sorting and distributing food, or assisting with administrative tasks. Pillars, a local homeless shelter, offers opportunities to prepare and serve meals to those that utilize its services. Is there a specific cause your group is passionate about? We can assist in connecting you with a related organization that would appreciate a helping hand.
