Not that long ago Milwaukee was criticized by convention and meeting experts for not having enough hotel rooms downtown. That’s changing now.

When it comes to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), many of us understand its purpose — of providing accessibility to people with disabilities — but do we fully understand its implementation requirements when it comes to our events?

Just like a chic new haircut or the perfect pocket square, an updated look for a hotel and conference venue can give it new appeal. Such updates also seem to pay off.

From service groups to churches to city- or statewide events, planners face the daunting task of recruiting volunteers to efficiently and safely pull off front-and-center events and behind the scenes activities.

The white granite Capitol sits solemnly on a neatly trimmed grassy quadrant on Madison’s isthmus, visible for several miles. A few blocks to its north and south, the twin gems that are lakes Mendota and Monona sparkle in the sunlight.

In a world where driverless vehicles take to the roads and planes can fly themselves, it’s no surprise that when it comes to meetings it’s a mad, mad high-tech world.
